Our Story
Bloc Design was founded in 2009 by Collin Brock, initially as a land planning and landscape architecture firm. In 2011, longtime friend and colleague, Larry Lockhart joined as a managing partner, providing the firm with experienced civil engineering. Based in Charlotte, North Carolina, the firm has quickly grown to eleven employees covering both landscape architecture and civil engineering disciplines.
Bloc Design is a collaborative, experienced and knowledgeable multi-disciplined consulting firm providing planning, landscape architecture, civil engineering services, and project management services. Our focus is to provide our clients with a committed creative approach to each project's unique character and challenges, as well as provide responsive, principal-driven project management. Bloc Design values the synergy of collaboration between the disciplines, balancing the blending of art and science with our creative and technical expertise.
Bloc Design and its managing partners have successfully delivered numerous projects through this carefully refined process, and have worked in nearly every major market sector including healthcare, mixed-use commercial, institutional, civic, residential communities and multi-family development, and urban planning.
