Bloc Design was selected to assist Sharon Presbyterian Church with master planning opportunities for their desire to expand the campus's existing columbarium. Located in the South Park area of Charlotte, the church was presented with various preliminary studies for two potential locations on campus.

 

Assisting the elected committee with various challenges and opportunities for each site, the final site, which included a small existing in-ground columbarium in the shape of a cross, was determined as the final location for future expansion. The design included expansion for over 400 in-ground and vertical columbarium niches, as well as an overall garden-like setting with a decorative brick wall and ornamental fencing.

 

The first phase of construction was completed in 2013.
