JENNIFER GROESBECK, NEW OFFICE COORDINATOR, JOINS THE TEAM

Jennifer joins the Charlotte team as our new Office Coordinator. Born and raised in South Carolina, she resided in Fort Mill most of her life until recently. Through her experience in support, she has learned to be a team player. She has a strong passion for volunteering, especially in the Veteran community. Last year, we partnered with local non-profit Veterans Bridge Home, which is an organization that her and her family volunteers with routinely. She is recently married to her husband, who is an Army Veteran. If she’s not volunteering, she’s outside taking a hike in the mountains, chasing waterfalls, or kayaking down the Catawba River with friends and family.

“I'm excited to join the V3 team to see what fun adventure we can take on.”

- Jennifer Groesbeck

CONSTRUCTION PROGRESS FOR HIDDEN LAKES

Check out the current status for True Homes' subdivision, Hidden Lakes, located in Statesville, NC. Our firm was engaged by the client to help take over the project from a previous consultant. Leveraging our expertise and exploring various options using SITEOPS, our firm was able to modify the site plan to help save over a million dollars in earthwork and site costs, resulting in approval during the first round of reviews. Currently, all temporary sediment basins have been removed, leaving only the two permanent basins. The next steps will be the completion of rough grading on Phase 8 and finalizing the site utilities.

WE'RE GOING TO DISNEY

It’s been over six weeks since the official change from Bloc Design to V3 Companies. Over the past few weeks as we are getting back into client meetings and events, the partners have been asked by a few people, “So what are you going to do now?” So being the planners that that we are, we decided to stay one step ahead of everyone anticipating this question just so we can answer with the cliché: “We’re Going to Disney World”…. with the partners actually going to Disney World. Collin enjoyed their trip with his wife and kids during their spring break, with Larry visiting a few weeks later with his family for their daughter’s competitive cheer national competition. Their team placed fifth nationally! Congratulations Hannah!

Aside from that fun event, it’s been business as usual here at the Charlotte office. We’ve added two new employees and looking to add some more (announcement forthcoming). We have also been awarded a number of large projects that we look forward to sharing in the coming months, so be sure to follow us on LinkedIn, Facebook, and Instagram.

It has been a fantastic first few weeks as we have been warmly welcomed into the V3 family. We have enjoyed getting to know our other team members in the other markets, and have already had some great collaborations on pursuits and projects, as well as some discussions on how we can implement each others ideas. We are looking forward to sharing more in the coming months; be on the lookout for us at some future events.

Also, check out our video here of our celebration on closing day. Our team and the leadership from Woodridge enjoyed a great evening at Stroke.

INTRODUCING ST. ANN'S MARIAN GARDEN

St. Ann's Marian Garden consists of a new garden on the St. Ann Catholic Church and School campus honoring the Virgin Mary. The scope of work consists of a plaza space framed by masonry retaining walls centered on Our Lady’s Shrine, softened by layers of landscaping. The plant palette was carefully crafted to focus on religiously significant plants, while also establishing foundation plants and allowing for seasonal interest. With a unique design approach, our team was able to create an amphitheater and preserved lawn space for use by the school. The central plaza is designed for daily quiet reflection and will also be used for ceremonies such as Mass. Design services include landscape architecture, civil engineering, structural engineering, and construction administration. It is currently under construction.

INTRODUCING OUR LATEST ENGINEER HIRE, CALEB CARPENTER

Born in Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri, Caleb started his life in a military family. He earned his degree in Civil Engineering with a concentration in Structural from NC State as EIT certified. His interest in civil engineering stemmed from the structural designs and inspections his father did for areas in Alamance County, the beach, and the mountains. Often, he participates in Spartan races, enjoys playing basketball, and serves with his Church as a high school group leader.

“The work environment Is better than any other places I’ve worked before with people that laugh everyday and invite each other to lunch. That community environment is something that is rare.”
