Landscape architecture and civil engineering services were provided by Bloc Design for the renovations of the plaza located in front of the Mecklenburg District Attorney Building along 4th Street. This plaza is located across from the Sheriff’s Department building. The project consists of a renovation to an existing green roof plaza which was a large uninviting space consisting of areas of turf grass and concrete. The proposed design of the new plaza space includes accommodating new seating areas, ornamental trees in raised planters, plaza pavers, and a colorful mix of sedums, grasses, shrubs, and perennials.
