Senior Civil Engineer Project Manager with 10+ years experience:
The candidate selected for this position will support the managing partners to oversee the engineering direction for a large portion of the projects within the firm. They will work directly with a majority of the design and engineering staff, and will be responsible for getting the project started and in the right direction, as well as seeing the project through completion in many cases. The position will also require the ability to prepare proposals which may require due diligence, investigation of the site and understanding its jurisdictional requirements. The candidate may also be involved in marketing efforts to expand our client base and branding exposure. Experience and abilities should include the following:

Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering

Extensive project management experience of civil engineering based projects in various market types including commercial, healthcare, multifamily, single family, industrial, institutional, and public-based projects.

Can effectively manage multiple projects simultaneously

Demonstrates leadership in leading project teams of three to four team members across both disciplines.

Candidates must have adept knowledge of permitting process for Mecklenburg County, City of Charlotte, and surrounding counties, as well as experienced collaboration with local DOT agencies within a project scope

Advanced civil engineering knowledge-base of all typical design documentation and plan sets, calculations, scheduling, management of project fees, management of personnel, etc.

Highly skilled in stormwater and utility design.

Position requires experience utilizing AutoCAD Civil 3D and familiarity with typical infrastructure engineering software.

Candidates should provide project examples indicating strong knowledge of stormwater engineering, roadway layout, 3D surfaces, and advanced understanding of calculations.

Licensure in North Carolina or South Carolina is required.
Civil Engineer Project Manager with 8+ years experience:
A Project Manager Civil Engineer is a direct report of the Managing Partners, Practice Area Leaders, and/or Senior Project Managers. They are responsible for leading, directing, and coordinating the functional authority for all aspects of the project throughout the life of the project. They are responsible for the project’s success and profitability, as well as ensuring all work is performed per the approved company standards and expectation of service to the clients. Experience and abilities should include the following:

An Assistant Project Manager Civil Engineer may be a direct report of the Managing Partners, Practice Area Leaders, Project Manager, and/or Senior Project Managers. This role is intended to be the intermediary between the CE III and Project Manager positions. This role is responsible for assisting the project manager/leader in regards to tasks related to leading and coordinating the functional aspects of the project throughout the life of the project. This role may consider a more increased role in management on a case-by-case basis, such as the size, duration, or level of complexity of a particular project. Their goal is to grow, learn, and apply the skills necessary to become a project manager, and share the PM’s responsibility for the project’s success and profitability, as well as ensuring all work is performed per the approved company standards and expectation of service to the clients. They are responsible for their production and in some cases oversee the work of other associates, ensuring all work is performed per the approved company standards and expectation of service to the clients. Experience and abilities should include the following:
