Bloc Design provided landscape architecture for an existing 8,000 sf rooftop along the top of Pease Auditorium and Campus Library.

The project included the evaluation of the existing structural integrity of the roof utilizing a structural engineering sub-consultant to evaluate the potential live and dead loads available for the upfit of a new vegetated roof system.

The analysis showed a limited load availability which required only allowing a thin profile extensive vegetated roof sytem with no pedestrian access.  Bloc Design provided lightweight custom art elements with colored glass and LED uplighting to add interest.  LiveRoof tray systems were employed for the vegetation.  Solar orientation was a challenge along the building sides.
