Central Energy Plant

Bloc Design provided civil engineering services for the building expansion for the Central Energy Plant located on the Main Campus of Carolinas Medical Center in downtown Charlotte. Expansion included coordination for the 9,400 sf building expansion housing the hospital’s primary chiller and generator operations. This also consisted of the installation of two new 50,000 gallon fuel tanks, water and sewer connections, and coordination of the project’s location within a FEMA floodplain and Community Encroachment along Little Sugar Creek.
