Alleghany County Veterans Memorial Park is a proposed park in Sparta, North Carolina between Veterans Memorial Highway (Sparta Parkway) and Duncan Street. The 7.5 acre Park plans for an open, multi-use space. Approximately three acres will be used for seasonal sports such as soccer, football, and baseball, as well as an ADA accessible, quarter mile walking path will surround the multi-use area.

 

Other planned features at the park will be a park pavilion, picnic shelters, concession area and restrooms, a nature-walk bridge, parking area, and fishing opportunities along the park's stream edge. Future phases reserved areas for additions such as a playground and monument area honoring specific branches of service and/or wars.
